Pilau with Sultanas

Many cultures have a version of this rice dish called Pilau. Additionally, there are many variations of which it appears people are not always able to agree upon. Growing up in a multi-cultural household, I got to experience a wide scope of foods that are indeed Kenyan but perhaps not known nor recognized by the majority. The addition to sultanas in this dish is one of them.

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to collaborate with @MynameisAndong, where I shared my Mother’s pilau with sultanas. It is a recipe that cooks beautiful and pairs well with kachumbari or any other pickled salad of your choice. This is definitely one you want to add to your repertoire.
